Seminar Details: In recognizing the need for a blended approach to the detection, prevention and ultimate rehabilitation of juvenile fire setters the Massachusetts Chapter of the International Association of Arson Investigators in conjunction with The Massachusetts Property Insurance Underwriting Association announces its annual June Seminar: Juvenile Fire Setting. Pathways: Investigation to Intervention.

The seminar has been designed to take the attendee from the basics of fire investigation, through the detection and interviewing of a juvenile into the pathways to intervention and the education of a juvenile fire setter. A bonus topic will be on the issue of cyber space, safety and its relation to juvenile fire setting.

This seminar has been designed to bring together all of the disciplines within Juvenile fire setting into one room. The attendee will leave the seminar with a better understanding of investigating juvenile set fires as well as the pathways from the set fire to rehabilitation.

Day one will be in a classroom setting. The second day with be a half day at real burn cells with a live burn cell demo followed by a mock case file activity in the classroom. The third day will consist of a class in the morning followed by a test.

Who should attend: Fire Investigators, Public Safety Officials, Law Enforcement, Detectives, Clinicians, Attorneys, Counselors, Probation officers, Prosecutors.
