This September the Massachusetts Chapter is happy to be returning to the northeastern part of the Commonwealth. This achieves one of our goals of serving members of our Chapter in every geographical part of the state.

September’s seminar will focus on current trends in investigating fires resulting from civilunrest. As we all know in our current times this is a scenario that could occur anywhere at any time. We must have the knowledge and understanding to appropriately conduct such an investigation involving these special circumstances.

Our lead presenter is ATF Special Agent Christopher Porreca. SA Porreca is currently the Branch Chief of Basic Training Programs at the ATF’s National Academy in Glynco, GA. He is also responsible for the International Response Team, and Behavioral Profilers.  National Response Team Supervisor deployed to Baltimore, MD during civil unrest in 2015. ATF-CFI,  IAAI-CFI, NY- CFI.

In 2015 Chris was a National Response Team Supervisor. In this capacity he deployed to Baltimore, MD during the civil unrest that occurred in April of that year. Chris also has knowledge on how fire investigations were conducted in Ferguson, MO in August of 2014. Chris will present to our chapter what he learned from both responses. He will also provide us with first hand information as well as best practices should any of us public or private have to investigate fires involving these circumstances
